Acceptance

By downloading or using the UltraTalk app, or by using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or the site.

The beta

UltraTalk is currently in public beta and is free to use during the beta period. Beta software is a moving target: features may change, break, or be removed, and releases may be updated or withdrawn without notice. Keep copies of transcripts that matter to you. If pricing is ever introduced, it will be announced clearly and in advance; nothing will be charged silently.

Your license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use UltraTalk on Macs you own or control. You may not resell the app, redistribute modified builds, or present it as your own work. Rights that your local law grants you regardless of these terms are unaffected.

Your content

Everything you dictate is yours. Your recordings and transcripts are processed on your device, we claim no rights over them, and we have no access to them. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

Your responsibilities

Use UltraTalk lawfully. You are responsible for what you dictate and where you send it. If you record conversations that include other people, you are responsible for obtaining any consent your local law requires.

Open-source components

UltraTalk builds on open-source speech technology, including OpenAI’s Whisper and NVIDIA’s Parakeet models. Those components remain under their own licenses, which are unaffected by these terms.

No warranty

UltraTalk and this website are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of transcription. Dictation is not a substitute for professional review: proofread anything important before you rely on it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of the app or the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, which during the beta is nothing.

Termination

You can stop using UltraTalk at any time by deleting the app. Deleting the app does not automatically remove transcripts, settings, or other files UltraTalk stored in your Mac’s Library; remove that local data separately if you want a complete cleanup. We may suspend or discontinue distribution of the app or beta program at any time.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we will update the date at the top of this page and note anything material in the changelog. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
